Security Filtering Blocking Access
Scenario:
Teachers or students are blocked by security filtering from signing into Speak Agent.
Steps for Fixing a Blocked Website:
For all implementations with blocked login or SSO access:
- Your school district may block certain websites or simply prohibit all websites unless explicitly allowed by the district's security filtering software such as Lightspeed, ContentKeeper, etc.
- IT Admins: Be sure to test on teacher-imaged and student-imaged devices. There may be configurations on the device imaging that you do not pick up testing on an IT/administrator device or clean machine.
- If you use domain filtering, please allow the domains *.speakagent.com and lexemes*.herokuapp.com. Heroku is a virtualized hosting platform for the Speak Agent application. Heroku processes authentication requests, so login is not possible if this domain is not allowed.
For non-SSO implementations:
- When non-SSO users set or reset their Speak Agent password, we route them to Mandrillapp (Mailchimp.com). The Mandrill service embeds google.com in the URL, which may cause the HTTP request to get blocked by certain security filters.
