Effective December 1, 2020, we have modified the Speak Agent Privacy Policy in order to comply with the new Student Privacy Pledge 2020,California’s Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA), and to accurately reflect the new version of Speak Agent that we plan to release on Dec. 2, 2020. This post describes the material changes:
- Updated the definition of Personal Information to comply with California’s SOPIPA.
- Updated the description of student Personal Information that we collect or that may be provided to us by school districts or educators.
- Added a section describing the performance data that we collect, including Student-Generated Content, some of which may be considered Personal Information (such as voice recordings).
- Clarified, wherever necessary, that Personal Information is used solely for authorized educational/school purposes.
- We did not change any of our key privacy principles. Speak Agent remains ad-free and does not sell user data to anyone!
