The team at Speak Agent is excited to announce that we’ve been named a finalist for the Tech Edvocate Awards as the Best Language Learning App or Tool.
"We’re thrilled to receive this recognition and believe it will help with our mission to support more students on their journey to mastering academic language," said Dan LaFountain, Chief Learning Officer at Speak Agent, Inc.
The Tech Edvocate Awards, hosted by The Edvocate, are presenting their 6th Annual Awards for P-20 Education honoring edtech companies, people, and products. The Edvocate was founded in 2014 with a mission to enhance the quality of education by influencing policy and reorganizing existing systems to promote equity and innovation in the American Education system.
The judges are edtech thought leaders, teachers, administrators, parents, and professors. Evaluation is split between the Popular Vote (20%) and the Judges' Vote (80%), and organizations are evaluated on “the extent to which they are transforming education through the development and/or advocacy of edtech.” Assessments are based on the following criteria:
Are the developers of the product in the educational field, or are they primarily techies?
Was the product a result of research and teacher input?
Does the product serve a purpose?
Is the product scalable and flexible?
Is the product engaging and unique?
Has the product been validated?
Does it save student information, and if so how is the data managed?
Is their product pricing realistic or sustainable?
Did they choose the right business model?
How is the customer service, and how responsive are they to issues and defects?
Winners were announced on August 31, 2022. View the full list, here!
